Visualizing Your Future
Visualizing your future helps surface and bring to the conscience our personal goals and desires. Visualization exercises can help us learn about ourselves and our values that are personal and important in life. Values are ways of living that can be realized from moment to moment. Examples include freedom, creativity, autonomy, connectedness, etc.
One way to learn what is important to you and what you stand for is to spend a few quiet moments visualizing, and then drawing out what you saw in your heart and in your mind's eye. This vision can help serve as a reminder of your values and how you want to feel as you develop your focus and action plans towards achieving your goals.
If you would like to try a visualization exercise, I have made one available to you below.
Find a comfortable place to sit or relax and have some paper and some writing instruments available for after the exercise (colored pens, crayons or pencils are lovely). This recording lasts 7 minutes.
Feel free to share in the comments what you thought of this exercise.
