Hot Cacao 2.0
It's time to reinvent hot cocoa. Instead of highly processed, sugary and non-nutrient drink, we can transform it using cacao.
Cacao comes from the cocoa bean and honored for their medicinal and aphrodisiacal properties. So I whipped up this recipe to make an anti-inflammatory, pro-health warm nourishing drink! This recipe is so much better for you than commercially prepared and processed hot cocoa and comes with heart-healthy benefits.
It's not cocoa - it's "cacao" and it's pronounced "ca-cow" and it's going to rock your world. This Amazonian superfood which elevates mood naturally and possesses these amazing health benefits:
HEALTH BENEFITS OF CACAO
40 times the antioxidants of blueberries
300 different chemicals in the form of phytonutrients (and also protein, calcium, carotene, thiamin, riboflavin, magnesium, sulfur, flavonoids, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids)
Highest plant-based source of iron
Full of magnesium (which you need to get your Vitamin D working!)
And more calcium than cow's milk (which we shouldn't be drinking anyway!)
In a pan over a medium stove, heat 8 to 10 ounces non-dairy milk of your choosing (almond, coconut, hemp, rice, cashew, macadamia). Sift in 1/2 teaspoon raw organic cacao powder. Stir until blended. Mix in 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Great Lakes Hydrolyzed Collagen powder along with 1/2 to 1 tsp of raw honey, a dash of turmeric and a twist of black pepper (which activates the turmeric). I like to add a single drop of Young Living Cinnamon Essential Oil because it helps stabilize blood sugar and adds a nice warm zest to my mug.
